Mónica Sánchez

She is a writer, digital creator, trained feline psychologist, gardener, and a survivor of child sexual abuse. Her personal journey is deeply linked to mental health, social awareness, and the creation of spaces where others can feel understood, heard, and supported.

She is the author of the book Lights and Shadows: Living with Borderline Personality Disorder, a work born from lived experience and written with the intention of giving voice to realities that often remain hidden under silence, stigma, or misunderstanding.

Through an honest and deeply human perspective, she shares the emotional impact of trauma, the complexity of borderline personality disorder, and the process of learning to live with wounds without giving up on seeking light. She wrote this book with a clear purpose: so that those experiencing similar suffering could feel less alone.

Her involvement in Pueblo Faro stems from a deep conviction: the prevention of child sexual abuse and the protection of children cannot be built solely on theory, but also on authentic listening to those who have lived these experiences. She firmly believes in the power of community, education, empathy, and words to create safer, more aware, and protective environments.

Within the project, she is responsible for the development of Pueblo Faro’s website, visual communication, and digital identity, in addition to collaborating with the team in creating spaces for listening, accompaniment, and support for victims and survivors. Her experience in web design and communication allows her to transform complex ideas into clear, accessible, and relatable messages, always from a perspective based on respect, sensitivity, and safety.

Her connection with nature is also part of her understanding of care and well-being. As a gardening technician, she finds in plants and contact with the natural environment a space of balance, calm, and inspiration that influences her way of accompanying, creating, and communicating.

This sensitivity also permeates her creative work and her commitment to building projects with social impact.
