Pueblo Faro

Protecting Childhood · Lighting Up Their Future

Ses Salines could become the first municipality in Mallorca with a community protocol for the prevention and intervention of child sexual abuse.

Pueblo Faro was created to establish safe spaces, train families and professionals, and build a community where children and adolescents know they are not alone.

More about us

A project born from the community

Pueblo Faro is an initiative led by professionals specialising in childhood, education, community health and social intervention.

Our goal is clear: to turn the prevention of child sexual abuse into a shared responsibility across the whole municipality.

We do not believe in silence.
We believe in communities that listen.
In prepared adults.
In protected childhood.

Why it is necessary

Child sexual abuse also exists in small towns

Community closeness can protect… but it can also mean that many situations remain hidden for years.

Most boys and girls never ask for help directly.

That is why it is so important for families, schools and professionals to know how to spot the signs, act and provide support.

Pueblo Faro works to move from late reaction to active prevention.

What we do

Five lines of action to protect childhood

Community prevention

Sessions for families, teachers and professionals to learn how to identify, prevent and act.

Women’s Circle

A safe space of support for adult women with experiences of abuse in childhood.

Lighthouse points

Visible spaces of support and protection during festivals and summer events.

Youth participation

Adolescents involved as active agents of social change in their community.

Scientific validation

Longitudinal evaluation of the project’s impact to create a model that can be replicated in other municipalities.

SES SALINES AS A BENCHMARK

A model that can inspire Mallorca

We want to show that even a small municipality can lead a profound transformation in protecting childhood.

Ses Salines has something essential: community.

And when a community gets involved, childhood no longer has to walk alone.
